Wire Sculptures

The wire masks evolved from wire outlines of acquaintances and family.  Influences of archaic Greek theatre  and African ceremonial masks took me to scale of larger than life which challenged the material and often defines distortion I choose to embrace. Making wire sculpture is so opposite the act of painting, It has become a form of relaxation.  Both forms painting and sculpture I first see in my brain transforming  in reality including intention and accident allowing the medium to express itself.
